StockMarketEye 4.0.15 Released

Dec. 13th 2016

We are proud to announce the release of StockMarketEye 4.0.15. This is a minor update that adds support for importing from Investoscope CSV files. It also includes minor changes for compatibility and stability.

Investoscope, a Mac based portfolio tracker, has informed its users that they will no longer be developing or supporting their product. In an effort to make it easy for Investoscope users to transition to StockMarketEye, we have added support for importing transactions from a CSV file generated by Investoscope 3.

This version of StockMarketEye also includes a new option to disable the previous close value reset feature introduced in the previous version. Some mostly European mutual funds receive price updates 24 hours or more late. With the new reset feature, these holdings never showed a day gain/loss. Users who have these types of securities in their watchlists or portfolios may want to disable the new reset feature. For more information, see the quotes page in our User’s Guide.

Below is a complete list of the additions and changes in this version of StockMarketEye.

What’s New In StockMarketEye 4.0.15

  • Support for importing Investoscope 3 CSV files. You can import them just like a normal CSV file, but choose “Investoscope 3” from the CSV Columns Format dropdown in the import window.
  • Add folder-level property for enabling/disabling the reset of a quote’s previous close value. See the documentation for more details.
  • Fix issue with transaction exports when “Total” line was shown in the Transactions report.
  • Removed “Dummy” quote option in Live quote tab of the Properties window.

This is a free update for those of you already using StockMarketEye 4. If you are using StockMarketEye 4, we highly recommend that you update to the new version.

StockMarketEye 4.0.14 Released

Dec. 4th 2016

We are proud to announce the release of StockMarketEye 4.0.14. This is a minor update that adds support for a couple new brokerages and minor new features. It also improves compatibility and stability.

Over the last month or so, Yahoo Finance and Google Finance have changed the way they reset quotes at the beginning of the day. Previously, they would reset the previous close value an hour or 2 before the start of trade. This made it so that lightly traded securities or mutual funds would have a 0% day gain until they were priced at the end of the day. Recently, however, the previous close value was never reset. This lead to having inconsistent day gain values in portfolios that had mutual funds or lightly traded securities. StockMarketEye 4.0.14 works around this change at Yahoo Finance and Google Finance by doing the reset of the previous close itself. As of this version, StockMarketEye will reset the previous close values at 8AM local time, except on weekends.

We have also added features to make it easier to upgrade to StockMarketEye 4. Now, you don’t need to have run StockMarketEye 3 on the computer first. You can simply run StockMarketEye 4, enter your StockMarketEye 3 license key, and StockMarketEye will propose purchasing the upgrade to v4.

Below is a complete list of the additions and changes in this version of StockMarketEye.

What’s New In StockMarketEye 4.0.14

  • New brokerage: NMIS, LLC
  • New brokerage: Voya Financial Advisors and Voya Institutional Plan Services
  • Added documentation about American Century Investments brokerage in the User’s Guide.
  • Reset the previous-close (and fields that depend on it such as Day Gain, etc) at start of trade (8AM local time) due to change with the way Yahoo Finance and Google Finance reset this value.
  • Improve selection/expansion of multi-items when adding a new sub-lot.
  • Make it easier to purchase the upgrade if StockMarketeye 4 is installed on new computer. Just enter your old license key into StockMarketEye 4 and it will propose the upgrade purchase.
  • Fix for calculation of returns with shares in/out in the mix.
  • Fix for benchmark symbols that don’t have quotes for entire range of dates.
  • Fix issue with setting the network proxy in the Preferences.

This is a free update for those of you already using StockMarketEye 4. If you are using StockMarketEye 4, we highly recommend that you update to the new version.
