StockMarketEye for iOS v1.3.0 Released

Nov. 15th 2014

We are proud to announce that a new version of StockMarketEye for iOS is now available on the App Store.

Version 1.3.0 sports the new iOS 7/8 flat look. It works the same as the previous version, but has a different look-and-feel to it. We think you’ll appreciate how it blends in with other iOS 7 applications. We’ve also added support for the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6plus.

This version also improves the news article reading experience. The new version of StockMarketEye for iOS will open articles in Chrome or Safari, rather than using a built-in browser. We recommend installing Chrome (it’s free) as it makes returning to StockMarketEye when you’re done reading much easier.

You can now also choose which tab you’d like to start on. In the old version, you would always start on the Watchlists tab. Now you can choose between the Watchlists, Portfolios or Synchronization tab.

Below is a complete list of changes and fixes in this version of StockMarketEye for iOS v1.3.0.

What’s New In StockMarketEye for iOS v1.3.0

Changes

  • Updated look for iOS 7/8.
  • Support for iPhone 6 and 6plus.
  • Improved news reading experience by opening articles in Chrome (recommended) or Safari.
  • Added setting for selecting which tab to start on.
  • Fix for broken passcode protection on iOS 8.
  • Fix for money market fund pricing.

  • Fix for calculation of market value and gain when multiple currencies are involved.
  • Fixed minor issues with on-line sync to desktop app.
  • Fixed a freeze when refreshing portfolio totals.
  • Update to latest Appirater.
  • Note: This version of StockMarketEye for iOS is only available if you are using iOS 7 or later.

If you use StockMarketEye for iOS, please consider giving us a 5-star rating on the App Store. Good ratings help us stand out from the crowd, attract more customers and help support the continued development of StockMarketEye. StockMarketEye v3.3.2 Released

Aug. 13th 2014

We are proud to announce the release of StockMarketEye v3.3.2 for Mac OS X, Windows and Linux.

This version includes a number performance improvements, minor enhancements and fixes.

In terms of performance, we made a number of changes to help speed up the portfolio’s Summary report and Back-in-Time report. Additionally, we made changes to reduce the amount of bandwidth StockMarketEye uses when attempting to retrieve historical quotes for certain stocks.

Based on user feedback, we improved importing from Quicken and iBank 5 generated QIF files, so that symbols and names from the QIF file are properly used. The CSV import was also improved with automatic price retrieval. Now, if a transaction in your CSV file does not include a value in the price/share column, StockMarketEye will lookup the historical closing price on the transaction date and use that for the transaction’s price/share.

Mac Users Note: you will need to download and install the full version from our website due to internal changes that can not be made available in our automatic update. Note that installing the new copy will not remove or change the data you have in StockMarketEye, as that data is stored separately from the app. Be sure to quit the old version of StockMarketEye before installing the new version.

Mac Users Note: StockMarketEye v3.3.2 is still compatible with Mac OS X 10.6, but you need to download a special version, which can be downloaded from the “Download for Mac OS X 10.6 and/or Apple Java” link on the download page. Contact our support team if you have questions.

Below is a complete list of the additions and changes in this version of StockMarketEye.

What’s New In StockMarketEye v3.3.2

Changes

  • Performance improvements in many areas of the portfolios, reports and watchlists.
  • Reduced bandwidth usage.
  • The Mac version now bundles a private version of Java.
  • New column: “ExchRate Inv” in the Portfolio Totals view.
  • Improved QIF parsing and symbol retrieval from the information in the QIF file.
  • Improved CSV parsing to automatically set the price/share from the historical price on the transaction date, if no price/share was specified for the transaction in CSV file.
  • Report dates have a more consistent start date for full year, YTD and MTD time ranges.
  • When changing a symbol, there is now an option to change any alert on that symbol to the new symbol.
  • The portfolio’s value chart always finishes on the day of the earliest transaction, even if the transactions are not in-sync with the Prices view.
  • The default focus for the dividend entry window is now the Total field, if the symbol field has automatically been filled.

Fixes

  • Fixed: London stock’s “Yield” is off by factor of 100
  • Fixed: Charts don’t save the Scale setting
  • Fixed: Setting an empty benchmark symbol causes 1 item in the portfolio to lose its symbol
  • Fixed: Sizing of Summary report is off after expand/collapse of transactions or portfolios area
  • Fixed: Bug in QIF parser with when importing iBank5 QIF files

This is a free update for those already using StockMarketEye 3. If you are using StockMarketEye 3, we highly recommend that you upgrade to this version.

StockMarketEye v3.3.0 Released

May. 25th 2014

We are proud to announce the release of StockMarketEye v3.3.0 for Windows, Mac and Linux.

This release improves the on-line sync experience, as well as adding new features that facilitate importing from Quicken generated QIF files and handling special portfolio events.

On-Line Synchronisation Improvements

We’ve vastly improved the on-line sync service experience by making it over 10x faster. (I wish I could do that with my investments!) The way you use the on-line sync has not changed, but the entire backend has been reworked to make it extremely fast. We’ve moved the service to new hardware and a new architecture, which combined give us room to grow and support new features in the future.

Import Historical Quotes

StockMarketEye downloads live and historical quotes for the items in your portfolio and watchlists automatically. However, your portfolio can also include symbols which do not have live or historical quotes available. We call these “non-quoted” items. To better support non-quoted items, we’ve made it possible to import historical quotes from a CSV file. Checkout the documentation in our User’s Guide for more details.

Corporate Actions/Spin-Offs

We’ve added support for recording special corporate action transactions. These types of transactions can be used to facilitate recording corporate spin-offs and other special activity. Our User’s Guide has more details on using this feature.

Improved Quicken QIF Import

We’ve improved importing Quicken generated QIF files. Previously, Quicken’s QIF files were tedious to import due to their use of Security Lists and the mapping stage that was necessary in StockMarketEye. The new version of StockMarketEye can handle Quicken’s Security List portion of the QIF file in order to facilitate and almost completely eliminate the mapping stage making the migration from Quicken to StockMarketEye a breaze.

Below is a complete list of the additions and changes in this version of StockMarketEye.

What’s New In StockMarketEye v3.3.0

New Features

  • On-Line sync improvements including 10x faster syncing.
  • Support for importing historical quotes from a CSV file.
  • New Corporate Action transaction type to handle spin-offs and other types of special actions.
  • QIF import to support Security Lists from Quicken generated QIF files.

Changes and Fixes

  • New column: Last Converted – The current last quote value converted to the currency of the portfolio.
  • New column: Weekdays Held – The number of weekdays the position has been held. Includes holidays that fall on a weekday.
  • When adding items to a watchlist, either via CSV import or bulk-add, an option has been added to ignore any symbols that are already in the watchlist.
  • When adding individual items to a watchlist, a warning window will be shown if the item is already in the watchlist.
  • All CSV imports now have more flexible date parsing.
  • A default secondary sort on symbol is used when the values in the sorted column are the same.
  • Support for unregistering the current license key from StockMarketEye on the current computer.
  • ‘Yearly Dividend Value’ column now available in Portfolio Totals.
  • User’s Guide updates.
  • Fixed: Combined Portfolio Total line does not update when quotes updated.
  • Fixed: Incorrect currency shown for some Indian stocks in watchlists.
  • Fixed: “TR” should take into account any FEES paid by the item.
  • Changed: CAGR for individual portfolio holdings should not include cash dividends.
  • Fixed: Portfolio CSV import should keep specified symbol for FEES and INTEREST_IN/OUT transactions
  • Fixed: Problem with TWRR/IRR calculation for multi-lot items when Last price is overriden.
  • Fixed: Problem with desktop icon on Windows.
  • Fixed: Problem with Gain/Loss values for short positions.
  • Fixed: Problem with on-line sync and transaction matching.
  • Fixed: Back-in-Time column LastTradeDate does not work
  • Fixed: Comparison symbol in chart has no value for ‘today’
  • Fixed: London and Indian tickers from Google Finance don’t have charts available.
  • Fixed: Transaction matching with OFX import when multiple lots are included in the imported portfolio, as seen in InteractiveBroker’s OFX file.

If you are using StockMarketEye 3, we highly recommend that you upgrade to this version. This is a free update for those already using StockMarketEye 3.

Still using the old StockMarketEye 2? Now’s a great time to upgrade to StockMarketEye 3!
