StockMarketEye 4.1.3 Released
We are proud to announce the release of StockMarketEye 4.1.3 for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.
The focus of this release is to restore current quote downloads for Google Finance ticker symbols.
As explained in our previous blog post, Google Finance has turned off their access point that StockMarketEye used to download current stock quotes. This has affected many of you.
After studying the available options, we’ve decided on a solution that will allow continued use of all existing Google Finance ticker symbols. One downside of the new solution, however, is that it takes longer to load those quotes. How much longer depends on the number of Google Finance ticker symbols you have in your Watchlists and Portfolios. The more you have, the longer it takes.
iOS and Android Apps Have Not Been Updated
Unfortunately, we haven’t had time to updated the iOS or Android apps yet. We are aware that they are also affected by this issue. We plan on updating them as soon as we can, but our focus up till now has been on the main desktop version.
Some users have pointed out that the charts for many (but not all) Google Finance ticker symbols do not have quotes for September 6 & 7, 2017 (Wednesday and Thursday of this week). Unfortunately this is an issue with Google Finance’s data. The historical quotes for those 2 days are missing from the historical data on Google Finance. You can also see this problem on Google Finance by viewing the 3-month stock chart there. There is no data in the chart for those days. Typically this type of issue will be fixed by Google (or Google’s data provider), in which case, it will update in StockMarketEye too. If it is updated on the Google Finance site, but not in StockMarketEye, you can force StockMarketEye to reload the chart data.
