StockMarketEye 5.5 – Essentials and Advanced Brokerage Import

We are proud to announce the release of StockMarketEye 5.5 for Windows, MacOS and Linux.

StockMarketEye 5.5 is a major release and includes updates to both the app and the subscription model.

Introducing StockMarketEye “Essentials”

With the release of StockMarketEye 5.5, we are introducing the new StockMarketEye “Essentials” subscription. Essentials is our new, base level subscription.

Users with an Essentials subscription have exclusive access to the new Advanced Brokerage Import feature and the new Total Return report. Additionally, an Essentials subscription gives you access to a modern subscription portal where you can easily view and manage your StockMarketEye subscription details (credit cards, receipts, license key, etc).

The previous, base level “Standard” subscription is no longer sold, but is fully supported. Current users may choose to remain on the “Standard” subscription as long as the subscription does not lapse.

Current users on our “Standard” subscription are also eligible for a pro-rated discount when converting to an “Essentials” subscription.

Don’t know what subscription type you have? Our Knowledge Base article can show you how to tell which subscription you have.

Advanced Brokerage Import

StockMarketEye 5.5 offers a new, “advanced” way to import investment accounts into StockMarketEye. We’ve partnered with a financial data aggregator, Yodlee, to provide access to 2000+ brokerages in the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, Europe, South Africa and more.

Our brokerage import feature now supports both the existing “direct connect” import method and the new Advanced Brokerage Import method. We also continue to support importing from standard financial data files such as QIF files and OFX files, as well as files in our own CSV file format.

The Advanced Brokerage Import is exclusively available to users with an “Essentials” subscription.

The Total Return Report

StockMarketEye 5.5 adds a new report called the Total Return report. While the current Gain/Loss report will show you the capital appreciation/loss on trades, the Total Return report shows a holding’s gain/loss combined with any distributions (i.e. dividends) received.

The Total Return report is exclusively available to users with an “Essentials” subscription.

The Allocation Report Improvements

The Allocation report has been updated in StockMarketEye 5.5 to include support for viewing allocations based on:

  • Sectors
  • Industries
  • Security Types
  • Market Caps

The report also now includes a toggle switch on each section for including or excluding the Cash balance from the report.

The enhancements to the Allocation report are available in both “Standard” and “Essentials” subscriptions.

Enhanced Transaction Editing

When editing a transaction, it is now possible to change the transaction’s Type to be any of the 25+ transaction types, rather than just one of the related types. This makes it possible, for example, to change a miss-categorized “Dividend” transaction to an “Interest” payment transaction (or vice-versa).

How To Update to StockMarketEye 5.5

If you are running StockMarketEye 5 and have an active license, please update at your earliest convenience either through the auto-update feature or by downloading and installing from our website.
