We are excited to announce that we are implementing a new login...
by Nate WittigLast week you may have noticed that your stock data stopped updating. Last Thursday, May 4th, Yahoo Finance implemented a new cookie policy and privacy policy.
We don’t have control over Yahoo’s decisions and changes in their data, but we’re committed to finding solutions.
This required StockMarketEye users to review and accept Yahoo’s cookie policy to use their data; this caused StockMarketEye to experience issues when fetching data and updating stock info correctly.
Once our team was aware of this issue, has worked day and night to resolve the issue as quickly as possible and get users back up and running.
We have just released a patch for 5.7.0 that fixes the Yahoo issue, so please download and re-install this version.
It is necessary to update to the latest version of StockMarketEye to continue receiving up-to-date market data from Yahoo Finance. Please note that once you upgrade, there will be no option to revert to previous versions.
As mentioned above, the first step to getting things back to normal is to download the patched version of StockMarketEye. You can do so easily through the desktop app or through our download page.
Once you have installed the patched version, you will see that we have built-in a quick and easy method for you to accept the new policies from Yahoo:
In order to gain full access to Yahoo’s stock data and updates, you need to accept the cookies and privacy policy.
You can change the cookie preferences at any time within the StockMarketEye app. Remember to restart the app after you made any changes for them to activate.
If you choose not to accept Yahoo policy updates, you will no longer be able to access their stock data.
We will continue to monitor and resolve any further issues that pop up from this side.
You will be able to update your stock performance data as usual after going through these steps.
If you are running StockMarketEye 5 and have an active license, please update at your earliest convenience through the auto-update feature.
If you have an older version of our software and wish to upgrade to version 5, you can do this in less than 10 minutes through our guide to upgrading StockMarketEye.
